What are Zazzle ProSellers? Meet JKcoder

Zazzle ProSellers are the most successful sellers on Zazzle. The ProSellers program is a FREE, invitation-only seller benefits program. As a part of the program, members will enjoy exclusive member benefits aimed at accelerating the growth and success of their business. Sellers must meet and maintain a minimum monthly earnings volume, demonstrate a commitment to their Zazzle stores, and uphold Zazzle marketplace policy compliance.

Today I have an interview with JKcoder who recently achieved proseller status. Here is their story of their journey to this achivement.

Because I'm on disability for an anxiety disorder I was trying to find work at home options. I came across a news report listing several work at home methods that were not scams. Among them was selling designs on products printed by a POD (print on demand) service. Since it was work at home and I had always wanted to make money through my art I thought it sounded to good to be true, but further research into such services showed everything to be legit.

I already spent hours everyday just playing around with designs on my computer or drawing so it was easy to start working on designs. I also already knew basic HTML, though a bit outdated and rusty at it. My dad was also very supportive of the idea and even loaned me his printer/scanner so I could get my work onto the computer. The only thing left was to think up a name.

But this got put on hold as my dad became ill and died. He had about a year ago registered the domain jkcoder.com as a place to showcase his programming scripts for Linux. I decided to take it over and use the name in his memory since he had been so supportive of my goals with this project. As it turns out the person running the host servers for the site was a friend of my dads. So I had no trouble transferring everything to myself.

I actually first started on CafePress. I had planned to eventually open shop here on Zazzle as well as several other PODs, but CP's changes so that shop keepers barely made anything forced me to do this ahead of schedule. Further more there betrayal of trust had me closing shop there. Because of the lack of trust and because of the changed wouldn't allow me to continue offering the type of store set up I needed. Closing shop was like starting all over again from scratch.

Though after that set back the very first check I got here nearly equaled the amount I earned being with CP for a year. Plus there was no fee for the store space so I wasn't losing a chunk of my profits each month. I have since opened a store with Printfection but this place continues to be the best selling location and my main focus.

Advertising is probably my weak point. I usually prefer to advertise in ways that take little to no effort on my part such as just placing a link on Twitter or sending a product email to a blog. I also very much appreciate referrals from others.

My most memorable achievements were my first sales. I think getting Pro-seller here will also be memorable.

My first sale ever in this type of work was this design.

Words of advice?
This is a type of work anyone can do and become successful at so long as you are willing to put the time into it. I would highly recommend anyone with artistic talent to get into it. I know anyone can be successful because I pretty much quite literally started out with nothing and am now making something from it. So just work on it every day, even if it's just making a single product or placing a single ad and don't give up. There's plenty of people here who are willing to offer free advise and help you through the hard times.
